Where do I start? Glass beads come in almost infinite shapes and sizes, from tiny seed beads to big chunky pendants. Glass can be used alone, or mixed with almost any other material. It can be rustic or elegant; delicate or chunky; bright and bold or neutral and unassuming. However it can quite heavy.

If you like a bit of sparkle, opt for Swarovski crystals - clear or coloured. Glass is so maleable there are some amazing hand-made beads and pendants available, although they can be a little pricey. Also on the expensive end is Venetian glass. Murano style glass beads are more affordable and very attractive. There are gold or silver foil lined beads, lampwork beads, and lots of novelty options. If you love pearls, good quality glass 'pearls' are lovely, and come in a range of colours and sizes.

You can create almost any look with glass beads. The only problem is choosing your favourites ....
